How long does it take to produce an autobiography?
A book takes on average 12 weeks to produce. Typically, the telephone interviews are completed within a 2 week period after which the book is written, edited, approved and printed within 8 – 10 weeks.
What are the telephone interviews like?
Many clients have mentioned that they enjoyed the opportunity to reminisce that the interviews give. Our professional interviewers will guide you through the process of remembering and recounting your stories in a relaxed and conversational atmosphere.
Do I need to write anything?
No. You do not have to write a word. We will record, transcribe and edit your memories into book format.
Will the book be written in a very formal tone?
No. The book is written in your tone of voice and personal style. Wherever possible, the writers will use your words, phrases and humour to maintain the sense of personality.
Will the book be literature quality?
No. These books are written for family members and friends – not for literary agents.
Will I have an opportunity to make changes to the draft?
Yes. You will receive a draft of the book for your comments. You can delete, add or amend content. Once we make these changes we will then send you a final version for you to approve and sign off.
Can I include photographs in the book?
Yes. You can include many photographs in your book – the exact number depends on the type of service you have received as a gift. Photographs are a wonderful way to illustrate the story of your life. You can provide us with digital photos by either uploading them to our website or mailing us a CD with the images you want included.
Is this service available in my country?
Our services are available to fluent English speaking customers worldwide.
How many telephone interviews will there be?
This depends greatly on the service you have chosen/received. Scheduled interviews range from 2 hours for a Childhood Memories book to 5 or 9 hours for an autobiography. Telephone interviews are generally conducted in 1 or 2 hour blocks.
If I would like to include more in the book can I order extra interviews?
Yes. You have the option of purchasing extra interview hours which naturally result in additional material for the book.
Can I order extra books once my autobiography has been completed?
Yes. You have the option of placing your book online where you and any pre-approved friends and relatives can browse and purchase a copy.
